Kings Heath Boys School – Learning Resource Centre
Umaa were invited by Kings Heath Boys School & Birmingham City Council to help design a new stand-alone Learning Resource Centre block.
The purpose of the building was to provide additional facilities for the pupils outside of the main school block and providing space for bookshelves, study space, IT desks and a group study room as well as associated staff offices.
Umaa was appointed for RIBA Stages 1-4. The project was completed on site in mid 2019.
Kings Heath Boys School – 2 Classroom Extension
During development of our first project at Kings Heath Boys School, Umaa was further appointed by the school to design an additional classroom block.
The need for the additional teaching space was long overdue, and on our appointment to carry out RIBA Stages 1-4, we were given tight financial constraints to meet and a short programme for development requiring 2 new classrooms to be delivered within 7 months of the initial appointment.
Umaa were able to successfully achieve this by following a focused design programme and working closely with the contractors to ensure there were no barriers to delivery. The project was completed at the end of 2019, ahead of schedule.
