Umaa was appointed to produce feasibility options for 39 newbuild family homes in a residential area of Telford, followed by a reserved matters application.

The site was designed to suit the developer’s requirements for a 100% affordable scheme providing a mix of housetypes to suit local needs, including some smaller starter homes, bungalows and a number of larger 3- and 4-bed properties.

The site is located next to the Ironbridge Way and is wrapped by trees and open space on two sides. The proposed layout respects this setting, forming outward facing development with bio-diverse landscaped areas to the West and South providing an open and attractive outlook for the new dwellings and with a new pedestrian footpath linking the main road through to the Ironbridge Way.

After obtaining reserved matters approval in October 2020, works began on site in early 2021, with the first properties handed over in the first quarter of 2022 and all works completed by the end of 2022.
