Park Lane

Umaa were invited to draw up proposals for a narrow linear site on land in between Park Lane and the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal.

The design aspiration was to make the Canalside edge the focus of the design, creating permeability throughout the site with new footpaths and view corridors, and forming a new canalside walk punctuated by seating areas and terraces.

The dwellings were designed to reflect the historic forms of canalside buildings and echo the industrial architectural style within the area, featuring strong terraced frontages with repeated mono-pitch roofs and gable features.
