Umaa was invited to produce a feasibility layout for this site within the urban extension area. Post winning the bid for 360 dwellings Umaa was selected as the preferred architect to take the project on to all the remaining RIBA stages of works.
The site comprises approximately 8.25 ha (20.4 Acres) of allocated land on the former Rugby Radio Station site, to the East of Houlton Way. The site forms part of a larger area masterplan.
The proposed site layout provides a mix of unit types arranged around a gently curving street network incorporating pedestrian and cycle links and connectivity to adjacent green infrastructure.
The reserved matters application was carefully designed in keeping with the design code for the outline approval which had been established through a lengthy process over a 3 year period.
Works commenced on site in Winter 2021, with completion expected by early 2025.
