For this project Umaa was tasked to produce a feasibility scheme and report for the site situated on Trinity Road North, in West Bromwich.
The existing site is strategically positioned near the centre, on the corner between High Street and Trinity Road North where there is no lack of attraction sites and public transports. Around the site there are several large civic and commercial buildings, dating from the latter half of the nineteenth century, that are within the conservation area. Most of these buildings are faced in brickwork enriched with ornate stonework and terracotta work.
The proposed design is to create a 12-storey mixed used building, consisting of around 100 1-bed and 2-bed apartments and 6 commercial units on the ground floor. The design will be inspired by contemporary architecture, creating a simple and monolithic addition to the streetscape. Due to the existing traditional architecture across the site, the façade will also be adopting a classic brick work design.
