Umaa was appointed to this project at an early stage with a brief to find a viable route for development, following a previous planning refusal on the site.

After developing a scheme that would effectively overcome the previous planning objections, Umaa was further appointed to carry out a RIBA stage 3 design, achieving planning permission for the development of 34 new dwellings, open space and landscaping.

The design of this site is driven by the key aspirations of creating a development that will be an asset to the area, restoring a brownfield site to a residential use, enhancing the existing streetscape and developing a new residential setting that compliments the surrounding context with a sensitive and well-detailed contemporary design.

Following grant of permission, Umaa produced the working drawings for this bespoke development site. Construction works commenced on site early in 2023 and are expected to complete by the end of 2024.
